Equipment for Setting Up a Multi-Rig Synthesizer

BEN ANDERSON: Hi. This is Ben Anderson with Expert Village, and today I'm going to be talking to you about the necessary equipment in a multi-rig setup for keyboards. In front of me here, I have two synthesizer keyboards; one is a full size, and the other one is a smaller version. A very important thing when dealing with equipment is having a good keyboard stand. In front of me, I have a double keyboard stand whereas I'm able to stand two keyboards up on one keyboard stand where the one is elevated and the other one is not so much. That is probably the most important thing when dealing with a multi rig setup is determining what type of keyboard stand you're going to need and how many you're going to need as well. Some musicians like to only deal with one keyboard or two keyboards; in this sense, I am dealing with two and I, therefore, only have--I have one keyboard--keyboard stand, a double-keyboard stand. Other keyboardists you'll find sometimes will often be using three or four keyboards and therefore will have another keyboard stand and they might have off to their side, off to their left or to their right. So determining for what's best for what's you're trying to do, we'll show you what type of equipment you'll really need. But these are the necessary equipment that you'll definitely need. Other equipment to think about are cables; of course, having enough 1/4-inch cables and enough power supply for your keyboards is necessary to amplify them and give them the sound they need. There are also many different types of synthesizers that you can use that are different from normal other keyboards. These include different synthesizer boxes or as well as drum machines that you can also use.
