Picking the Right Size Spline to Repair a Screen Door

Hey Don Golden back with you at Expert Village and we were just talking about installing the spline that is going to hold our screen door in place. There are a couple of things that you want to do before you go down to that hardware store and buy this. It comes in a couple of different sizes and the way to determine that is you can pull up a piece of the old spline here when you take it off and on the package, we have a little diagram here that says actual size. This happens to be 1/25th of an inch you know and if you don't have a slide ruler in your head like I don't, just hold this right up against here and it is going to tell you that is the same size. Okay, so that is what we are going to buy. It only comes in 1 or 2 sizes but you want to make sure when you go to the hardware store. You don't want to go down there and come back with the wrong thing, right? And how many times have we've done that? It's no fun. And you can tell when you get home by your roller because it has 2 sizes as well. Now this will fit right in here and there you go so you know you've got the right one.
