Finding the Distributor Cap
Hi! My name is Nathan McCullough. On behalf of expert village.com, in this clip, we’re going to discuss how to locate your distributor cap. Distributor caps looks kind of like an octopus or a big spider, possibly even a crab. They are kind of look like this being that they have all the wires for all your cylinders coming off it. The easiest way to locate your distributor cap is to locate a spark plug wire. They’re all over the engine. The spark plug wires are these guys right here. They look like this. Some are labeled; some aren’t labeled, depending on the factory specifications. How you find the cap, you locate a wire; we’ll take the long way around. This is cylinder #5. You just follow this wire around. Follow it right around down through here and it will dead end for us right into the distributor cap, and that’s where it is.
