Follow the Red Markers in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi. I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. So here's another red marker that shows us that we need to go up in this room. We can see that there is a portal-taking area up there, and that looks like pretty much it for the moment although we have a fan area up here. So maybe we should stop there first before we try to go all the way up. Make our exit there and then entrance on the floor, we just hop right out. Now we're behind this fenced off area. And there's a door but of course it's locked. And there is another piston here across the way that's quite long. And we're going to need to find a way to get on to that piston. So what we can do is make an exit here above it. At its point of being fully extended. And make our entrance here and just watch for the piston to come through. And jump on it when it gets close enough. Now you can stay on this piston safely, it'll go back and forth as long as you don't move around too much, and we want to get up there across the way so we can place an exit over here and then we can use the height of this piston to do a momentum jump to take us across the way.
