Waiting for the Elevator in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi! I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. Now the elevator kinda got away from us and we can't hop onto it right now. But if you look across this little hole you can see that there is a solid platform right there, so that's what we want to go to. Go ahead and put a portal over there above it and another one right here. Now we can stand on this thing and proceed over to the next little safe area just by shooting a portal directly across there. Now we see that we've got a door here that's going to knock us off we try to ride the elevator. And we have button that opens the door but it only does so for a few seconds. That's definitely not enough time for us to ride the elevator through. So what we want to do is go ahead and open this and shoot a portal across. So now the door doesn't have to be open. We can just wait for the elevator to come back through. And wait for it on the other side of the door by using the portal. So here it goes, under the door, here it comes, and just hop on, and great we're past that part.
