The Final Test Chamber in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi. I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. All right. Here we are in test chamber 19. If this progress bar is to be believed, this is the last test chamber. And we can see that we've got powerball danger, drowning danger and look the cake is finally eliminated. The long promised cake may or may not finally be available in this test chamber we're going to have to get to the end to find out. So in the first part we have a powerball dispenser and receptacle. And this one shoots out and bounces pretty fast and it also dissipates pretty quickly. So you've got to be careful about how we do this. We've got a black wall here so we can't put any portals there. But everything else looks like it's a fair game. We can't put one here either though. And we want the powerball to come out and go into that receptacle. So what we can do is place an entrance here where the powerball is going to go in. And then we can place an exit here. But you notice, when it comes out it's going to come out straight. And it's just going to bounce of off this black wall and go back through to the receptacle. So what we want to do is once the powerball has come through into this area, we just shoot a new blue portal somewhere else so that it can't get back through to the other side and then it'll bounce up and go into the receptacle. So there it goes and that has activated this elevator.
