Using Power Ball & Portals in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi, I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. You gotta be careful. So once we've done that, we can put the companion cube down for a second, and then we're going to want to use this power ball to activate some power ball receptacles later in the level. And we know that the power ball is always going to be shot at that place, so we can go ahead and place a blue portal at the end of this corridor, and that way, it will be ready for us when we need it later. So then, we can pick up our companion cube and go back down the second corridor, which also has a power ball in it. Be careful not to be trapped and hit by the power ball. You can use the cube as a shield just like we did before. Bring it on down and we come into this open area here. You can set the cube down, and we see that there's a power ball receptacle, an angled platform up to the ceiling, and a couple of different passageways for us to go through. Now, since we just placed the blue portal at the end of that first corridor, we can put the orange one here, and whenever the power ball reaches the end of that corridor, it bounces off at an angle and hits the power ball receptacle.
