Playing "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi

JOE WILES: This is Joe Wiles with the Rock & Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. We're going to take a look at Bon Jovi's "Wanted: Dead or Alive." Grab your acoustic guitars. Generally, this song is done on a 12-string, but I only have a 12-string electric, so I'm just going to keep it on the 6-string acoustic. Let's take a look. Now, each pattern is a four-count pattern, okay? And it begins with the open D string, okay? It goes--the picking pattern always goes D string, G string, E string, G string. We completely bypass the B string as if it weren't there, okay? Now, let's talk about the fretting hand. To start it off, we're going to use our ring finger on the 14th fret of the G string, and our middle finger on the 13th fret of the high E string. Hit those in a row, one, two, three, four. The next little chord bit is, both of these, on the 12th fret, the ring finger on the 12th fret of the G string, and the pinkie on the 12th fret of the high E string. Hit the same picking pattern. The next one, they're both on the 10th fret so just slide it down two frets, okay? The next one, they're a little staggered again, open D here, then, we're going to go to the 9th fret of the G string, and the 8th fret of the high E string, okay. The first half, so far, sounds like this. Let's tackle the next half in the next segment. I'll see you there.
