How to Open Up Your Voice When Singing With Vocal Tips & Techniques

Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We are going to be talking about vocal performance. Next point that I like to get you to do is to open up to drop your tongue and open your throat like a yawn. So first I am going to give you three ways to sing, and go, you know “I love you,” and I love bluegrass, I love country music and so and I was born in Alabama, raised in Mississippi, so I have no problem singing like that, but that is we call it as a high lundum sound, “its a long, long way,” I am making that light, I got my throat a little bit closed, my tongue is little bit raised, and if I want to have a fuller sound, I am going to take that and open my throat and drop my tongue like a yawn, you can hear this change: “Iiii” …. can you hear that difference? “I….” and most people sing like this, they go, you know, “I think you are the best…” and what you should do - that is fine, but would be to go, to open, I… all I am doing is yawning, the more like a yawn, “I think you are the best,” I hope that sound comes across as a fuller fatter sound. Now there is a… I can do that too much, “I think you are the best,” is too much. But in general most people are two types and as you higher, it is harder to open up.
