Power Balls in Orange Box's Portal

Hi, I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software. A company with which I have no affiliation. Here we are in the next test chamber, it is #07. We can see that the same challenges exist here. There's the danger of getting killed by the power ball and we have to get the power ball into a power receptacle. So let?s take a look and see what we've got here. We have a power ball dispenser there, which shoots the ball up above our head and you can see that it's just bouncing off the wall right there because there's no portal for it to go in to. Now here's an orange portal which doesn't have a blue companion yet and it leads up to a power conduit. So, this is pretty simple. We can see that the power balls hit this black spot and if we just put the blue portal right there. The next time that ball comes through, it'll go through that blue portal and it'll come out of the orange one. You can see it and then it goes into the receptacle. That allows this moving elevator, I guess it's a horizontal elevator, moving platform, to be activated. Which can help us to get over to the exit. But the problem is we don't have anyway to get up there, right now. We can look at the ceiling and see that maybe there is a place, that maybe we could drop down out of the ceiling and land on that platform. So, we can place our blue portal right there and come over to the orange one. It allows us to see when the elevator is under our feet. We can time our jump so that we don't fall and have to start over. Here it comes, into the orange and out of our blue. Now, we just have to wait for the elevator to take us across. And we can say a fond farewell to test chamber #07.
