Test Chamber Options in Orange Box's Portal Walkthrough

Hi, I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software. A company with which I have no affiliation. So, here we are about to enter test chamber 01. There are 19 test chambers in Portal and those make up, really just the first half of the game. So, I'm trapped in a room here with glass walls on all sides and I can't get out, but some how I need to find my way to the exit over there. So here is a portal that I can walk through, but it's changing to allow me to walk into a different room every few seconds. What I have to do is look and see what my options are. One portal shows the block that I need to get. When it switches over it shows the pressure pad, like the one we just depressed. And then the third cycle shows the exit. What I want to do is wait until the block comes back around and pick that up and then; portal closed on me, it'll open back up in a second. And when it does I want to take it into the room that has the pressure pad on it. Then I can do like I did before in the previous test chamber and depress that button which allows you to find the exit, which is there. And I just have to wait for the portal that leads to the exit to come back into view. And then we'll be able to go. And that's test chamber 01.
