Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We are going to be talking about vocal performance. The third thing is that you don’t hear yourself as you actually sound. You hear yourself through your inner ear and everybody else hears you through their outer ear, you may have experienced this if you been to a party, somebody recorded it and say “hey! you know… and you go “who is that?” And they go, that is you, you go, no that is not me, and they go, that is you man. You hear yourself your whole life through your inner ear and everybody else hears you through their outer ear. And it takes training and attention to begin to hear yourself actually how you sound, that frustrates a lot of people. And lastly, when you have a beautiful sound and your voice is so pretty, you have to stick words on top of it. A trumpet player does not have to say “Ma I love you, you are so awesome” with this beautiful tone, he can just play and be cool. But you have got to stick words on top of the beautiful sound and depending… and if you have sing you might notice, this word sounds so nasally I can’t hit this when I am singing these words, I cannot do this and it is all because of those words being stuck on top. So there is no answer for that, it is just statement of a big problem for the vocalist.
