This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. I'm continuing to work on the garment bag that I'm making and I have sewn around the edges of the different pieces that I have around the middle letter D. Then the blue behind it and the flower behind it, I would now sew the edge around it to sew it to the garment bag. I have pinned it so I'm ready to sew. I have a zig zag stitch set on the sewing machine. So I will stitch just around the edge just covering around the edge. There would no raw edges anywhere that are showing. Again you can use just about any kind of fabric to use as letters or you can use applicate shapes for a younger child. You may just want to do shapes. Even if you have a simple stencil of a animal or star or a heart or something like that you can applicate that on there as well. But the same process you would still follow as zig zagging around the edge to applicate the decoration onto your garment bag. So that is how we would attach the letter just by a zig zag stitch.
