Hi. Shelly Cordsen here with Expert Village and we are putting the binding on our personality placemat. I am down to my fourth corner and I'm going to take a few more stitches here. And now I'm going to stop because I'm down to the end where I need to connect these too. Okay? So we're going to take this off the machine. And this is just a little trick I've devised. First of all I'm going to take the tail I started with. If you'll remember I had ironed it into a bias. And I'm going to put it up here. I'm going to bring the tail that I've been sewing on, on top of that. And you can see where this point is from this bias piece, that's where you've got to make sure you have it nice and flat and this laid over it. And right where that bottom piece is I'm going to put a little pin right in that fold. If you can see that. So that'll match up right there. I'm going to open this top layer up where the pin is. I'm going to lay it down. I'm going to open this bias one up where I've ironed. And right where that crease is you can tell where it's been ironed? Where that point is right here? Is going to go right where that pin is. So we're going to lay this flat. Put that point, folded point right on that pin, open it up and then we're going to remove the pin and we're going to pin over here and take the other pin and pin on this side. Now it's easier to tell when you have a bigger project but I call it a number 7. It comes this way and then down. And you've got to have it coming this way. And then we're going to sew from the top corner up here down here. Okay? So we're kind of creating a bias seam so that you have less bulk when you do the hand part of the binding. So, we're going to make sure everything's flat and we're going to go right between these pins down the center. Come out right where they intersect in a V. And then we'll take the pins out. Pull it together and see we've got a perfect fit right there. Now, you want to make sure you've done it right before you come and then you'll pull this out and you're going to trim a quarter inch from where you sewed. Finger press that open, fold it back in half and then now we're going to sew, from where we left of, we're going to sew it down and be done.
