JOE WILES: Number 4 on our top 80 most downloaded guitar tabs on the Internet is "Fade to Black" by Metallica. Let's take a look. Now we're going to start with the index finger of our left hand on the 2nd fret of the A string, then our ring finger on the 4th fret of the D string. We're going to hit those two in a row, then the open G string. Okay? It sounds like this. And then come back down. Okay? One, two, three, four, five. Hit the D string again. Bring your pinkie up to the 5th fret of the A string and then hit them again. Okay? It sounds like this. The next bar, you just open up the A string, keeping your ring finger on the 4th fret of the D string. Do the same motion. Pinkie back up to the 5th fret and then go back to the original. Then we're going to switch it up on a chord. We're going to take our ring finger and put it on the 4th fret of the A string, and then we're going to take the pad of our index finger and put it and lay it across the 2nd frets of the G and the B strings. We're going to give that the same motion, then open up your A string, then D string. All together, slowly, it sounds like this. In our next segment, we're going to take a look at number 3. Join me there.
