"Hi, I'm Albert Hedgepeth with Expert Village. What we're going to talk about now is the importance of keeping a clean dock space. Whenever you wrap your hoses, you want to make sure that the hoses are neatly kept on the dock. You don't want them laying out everywhere so that other people that are using the dock and kids that are running on the dock, can trip on them. With your ropes, you want to make sure that they're neatly coiled and spun so that they also are not out so that people can trip on them. You definitely don't want people stubbing their toe, falling into the water, falling and hitting a cleat, or just tripping in general on your boat's materials while they're out here using their boat. With electrical cables, you really want to make sure that they're out of the water. If they're in the water, you can have people that are swimming around the boat get shocked. It can also short the cable and short the boat. So what you want to make sure is that you wrap the cable around one of your dock lines, or, lot of people these days are using clips to go ahead and clip it to a rope that's fixed to the actual electrical line. Whenever you spin these cables or the ropes, you want to spin them clockwise. You just want to go ahead and wrap them up in front of the cleat in a spiral. It looks clean, and it also keeps people safe on the dock."
