How to Cool Christmas Pudding After Baking

Hi, my name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make holiday pudding. Okay, so it's been about an hour and a half. So I'm going to take my cooling rack here and set that down. And if you don't have one of these you can also use a, just like a grate from your oven. Or you can use, you can actually set it on top of, if you have a toaster oven, you can take the grate of it out of that. There you go. Or what you could also do, you could also set it on your burner. Just leave the burner off and just set it on there just so it can get some circulation around it. So now what I'm going to do, turn my oven off. And slowly and carefully, and this will be hot, but the foil doesn't hold heat very long because it's so thin. So what we'll do is we'll just pry this away. And you want to, see it came right up to the top of the foil. But you see also it's nice and spongy. That's what we want. So we're going to let this sit for a second. Let me kind of cool the top off. And it should smell absolutely fantastic at this point which I assure you this does. Let me grab a hold of it and flip it over to facilitate the cooling on the rack, got my little monkey oven mitt here. So we're just going to set it just like that. And we're going to let it cool off on the outside here, and you can see how it just fell right out of the pan. You can also see that you know, it's nice and firm just like a, basically like a loaf of bread should be. And we're going to let this cool off for about fifteen or twenty minutes. And once it cools off completely we're going to come back and cut into it. And I'll show you what the finished product looks like when you slice into it.
