This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. We have put our backpacks together, sewn the front to the back and we have one seam on the outside edge. But just in case the edges were to ravel, we want to make sure that we take care of that. We can zigzag the edge the edges together. So that is what we are going to do in this step. I have moved my machine to the zigzag stitch. Then I start and we would zigzag all along the outside edges. This should keep our bag from raveling and make it last a lot longer. The corner and press the foot and keep going. Another corner. This takes care all of all the raveled edges. So even if the backpack is thrown in the washing machine which I suspect it would be many times, over raveling edges should not be a problem. That is how we reinforce the edges of our backpack.
