Storing a Block Plane

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip we'll be storage of your block plane. First off it's always good to label where your tools go and where they are going to be stored at. Next when we store our block plane we want to make sure that the blade is not sitting on anything it needs to be slightly raised in the air. This is going to prevent it from shifting or becoming damaged in any way. In my storage area I have several base for block planes and you'll notice there is a small piece of wood that has been stapled down to help elevate the block plane. So when I set that in place my blade is sitting right here my raised block is right here which allows my block plane to sit at a small incline. Lastly it's always good to lock up your tools where no children or anyone is not trained to use the tool can get to it.
