General Safety Tips for Using a Block Plane

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be talking general safety. First off you want to make sure that your work area is clean any type of debris or sawdust or any other materials could be a slip or a trip hazard. That could always lead to injury. Next you want to make sure that your work area is also well lit plenty of lighting is going to ensure that you stay safe when you are using your tool and working on your projects. Areas that are too dark just invite disaster. Lastly you always want to have a way to secure your stock or project that you are working on when using the block plane. This can be a vice clamps or any other appropriate message of securing that object.
