Introduction to 'Four on the Floor' Drum Beats

JOEL SIEGEL: Alright. So, we're going to move from our snare drum back down to our bass drum. We want to develop all these instruments evenly. We're going to take our metronome and go from 75, what we have been practicing for that four on the floor. We're going to go up to 85. So, again, these are what kind of notes? Quarter notes; same kind of notes that you're going to play on the bass drum. Here's what it looks and sounds like. One, two, three, four. Alright. That's what it looks and sounds like. So, let's go ahead and do it together and do the same thing, keep in mind we're playing heel down and we're not digging into the head, we're letting it bounce back. This is four on the floor and again, for reference we're at 85 beats per minute. One, two, ready, play. And off. Alright.
