Keep your hands in front of your body. Make sure you put all of the weight on the front foot and ensure that when you push off the back foot it is at a right-angle. Stay low to the ground, flex forwards in your skates making sure that your knee is front of the skate. It goes without saying that you should be wearing proper protective equipment including wrist, knee, elbow pads plus a good helmet and ensure that the knee pads are of sufficient quality that you can fall on them comfortably.

Pushing Off With Your Rollerblades: Free Online Rollerblading Lesson

Hey, I am Adam Silverstein on behalf of Expertvillage.com and in this clip I am going to show you guys how to push forward on your Rollerblade. Now that we are comfortable balancing on that it is important to start moving forward. So what we are going to do is still keeping our knees bent like while we were when we were balancing you are going to keep one foot straight in front of you, your other foot you are going to push to the side. It is going to be turned a little bit so you have something you really push your leg off. Now as we get low, we push and glide on our front skate. So we push, glide, nice. Push, glide, good job. It is going to take some practice between comfortable balancing and pushing but just remember keep those knees bent, cock your foot to the side, push off and glide and now switch it up to the other foot. Push glide. Nice.
