Playing Quarter Notes on Drums

JOEL SIEGEL: All right. This is our beat. Here's some quarter notes--two, three, four. You probably didn't even hear the metronome on that. That's because I'm playing exactly with the metronome. The drum is lining up exactly with this beat. These are quarter notes. I'll play again just one bar of quarter notes and you play along. Let's make it two bars. Go ahead and play along and for right now you're going to be alternating, starting with your right hand, left hand, right hand, left hand, etcetera. I'll give you four beats. One, two, ready, play.
