Hi, I'm Albert Hedgepeth with Expert Village. Today we're going to talk a little bit about trailer maintenance. If you own a boat, you're going to put it into two different types of water. Either salt water or fresh water. Fresh water includes lakes, streams, rivers and salt water includes oceans, sounds and tributaries. One of the major things that salt water will do is really make your boat rust quite easily, so its really a good idea to go ahead and make sure that you wash your boat after every use, especially after salt water. As you can see, this trailer is rusting in quite a few places. And that's just do to the fact that its been in salt water quite frequently, even though its been rinsed. This trailer's about five years old and as you can see, its really starting to show all the wear and tear and the salt water damage. So making sure that you wash the boat and the trailer and that you rinse it off really thoroughly is a great way to just increase the longevity of the trailer itself.
