Tips for Cooking Rice

Alright our water is up, just up to a boil now. We're going to add our rice into the pot. Stir that around for a moment. Put the lid back on. We're going to leave that for about a minute, to a minute and a half, till the rice is on a full rolling boil. Once the rice has been on a full rolling boil for that period of time, we're going to lower the heat down to a simmer and leave it on the stove top for about ten minutes. After about ten minutes, we're going to fluff it very gently with a fork and then take it down to the lowest possible temperature you have on your stove. Every stove is going to vary as is every pot is going to vary by the amount of heat. So it really takes some familiarization on your own part with your cooking tools, your pots and your stove. And we'll be back in a minute to talk about our next step in the dinner.
