This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. We have now pinned the front fabric of the valance to the white black out fabric along the bottom edge. I would sew all along the bottom edge about a half a inch seam allowance. Leave the sides open for now. I would explain why in the future clip. But for now we would sew all along the bottom edge keeping a straight of a line cause that is what would be visible. Most of the time it would be visible when the valance would be hanging. This fabric is fairly easy to sew on without flipping around especially with the black out fabric below. So it is very easy to sew on it. If you wanted to have trim or fringe or something like that on the bottom edge you would still want to complete this bottom edge. Especially using the blackout fabric you can complete this step and the fringe could be added later. I would continue on with this seam. We would head to the ironing board to press this seam so we would have a nice flat seam at the bottom when we complete the seam sewing here.
