This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. Today we are working on a valance and one of the first steps that we need to complete is to cover the board that we would be using to staple the valance to. That way if you are near the window and you are looking up under the window or looking out the window you would not be able to look up and see a board. You would be seeing a cover board that would be the same fabric as the valance itself. So I have the board here that already has been cut the width that we need it to go above the window. We laid it on the fabric and I'm going to just cut to give me enough to be able to enclose it like a gift. Like wrapping a present and then we would be using a staple gun to stable the fabric around the board. This does not have to be perfect because these edges would not be seen once the valance is stapled to the board. That should just about do it. Let me check that is going to be wide enough to cover. That would be just fine and we would come back in the next clip to staple the fabric to the board.
