Fabrics for Curtain Sewing Project

This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. We are talking about how to make window treatments. In particular the one that we would be working on today is a valance. It kind of fabric that we are using a decorative fabric stripped fabric that should be pretty for the use that we need it for. The bedroom that we would be decorating. But other choices is that you might want to consider are a stiffer fabric like canvas for maybe a recreation room or a game room or something like that. You might also want to consider lining your fabric if you are going to be doing. If there would be a lot of light shining through from behind the curtain, we would be using this called white black out fabric. It would prevent any light from shining in from behind it. So depending on the top of fabric that you have or how closely woven the fabric is, you may have to end up lining the fabric. If it is a solid color, you can just line it with the same fabric it can just be a double thickness. These are some of the things that you might want to consider when choosing what type of fabric that you are going to use for your window treatment.
