Hi, I am Albert Headsmith with Expert Village. We are going to talk a little bit about basic trailering. Before you go out on a short term or a long term trip with your trailer, it is really important to come back and do a little inspection on your tires. This is even before you pull it away. You want to go ahead and check the tread on the tires and make sure that they are not wearing on the outside or the inside of the tire. If you see wear and the tread looks thinner on the outside of the tire it usually means that it is underinflated if you are seeing most of the wear in the middle of the tire, usually that wears comes from over inflation. If the tread on the tire seems to be wearing down a lot it is a good idea to go ahead and replace the entire tire. Another thing you want to do is to go ahead and check the tire pressure on the tires and make sure that they are set to the appropriate psi or pounds per square inch. The appropriate reading can be found on the outside of the tire wall, and you definitely want to make sure that your tire are appropriately inflated it will give us some extra life and to make sure while you are riding down the road that you will have a smooth ride.
