Hi, I am Albert Headsmith with Expert Village. We are going to talk a little bit about basic trailering. Their are two ways to back up a trailer. Number one is turning and looking over your shoulder at what the trailer is actually doing because the trailer is going to turn the opposite way as you would turn if you were going forward. So, in other words if you want the trailer to go the right side you are going to turn your car to the left. That is going to cause the tailer to jackknife and go the right, the direction that you want it to go. The other procedure to backing up with a trailer in two is to use your mirrors. Actually sight a spot in the mirror whenever you are doing your approach turn to where you want to end up and at that point you use both of your mirrors to guide you to make sure that you aren't hitting other objects, and you turn the wheel in the same fashion that you would when you were normally driving while carefully watching your mirrors to make sure that you are not running into any obstructions.
