Hi, I'm voice over artist James Benedict on behalf of Expert Village. This video is about learning how to play the didgeridoo and I'd like to share a few secrets with you. Now that we know how to breathe and make some really neat sounds with the didgeridoo, we'll discuss moving the mouth inside and using your tongue to make variations of noises. This is kind of like the scale for the didgeridoo. Even though there really is no scale and different notes for the didgeridoo, we can make it sound like it's talking. While you're buzzing I want you to let your cheeks puff out and then try to squeeze them back in as you're playing. It makes kind of a "wah-wah" sound as you do it. We're not going to do the buzzing thing this time, we'll just go straight to the didgeridoo, watch really closely. (demo) Anybody who's seen Crocodile Dundee and heard the music has probably wondered what that sound is. Well, that's the didgeridoo and that's a characteristic sound of it. The Aborigines used that to communicate and just to make music with. Let's do that once again. Puff the cheeks, squeeze them in, over and over. (demo)
