Triple Lift High Hat Drum Exercises: Part 2

JOEL SIEGEL: Alright, so we'll continue on with our three lifts in the bar, the three hi-hat lifts. We'll go ahead and do beats instead of one, two, and three, we'll do one, two and four, alright? So think about what it's going to be lining up. This is a lot of lifts. By now, you should have a good idea of what the implication of the up when you're doing upbeat lift. At the next--when the hi-hat's going to be coming down on the next downbeat, okay? So if it's the upbeat of one, it's coming down on two. Think about what that means for the rest of them. So this is the upbeats of one, two and four. This is what it sounds like. Alright? In the next clip, we'll play it together. You can take a look at what my feet are doing.
