Double Lift High Hat Drum Exercises: Part 8

JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So, one more variation that we're going to do with these two lifts in a bar are beats one and two, all right? So, if you can think to yourself what is this going to be analogous to, we already did three and four and mechanically, these are going to be the same. All the same things are lining up and--but, again, the difference is where it is in the bar, which means where it is in the music and what kind of flavor it adds to the music, okay? So, this is what it sounds like. Think about what's going to line up with your bass drum, your snare drum, your hi-hat and the foot pedal of the hi-hat. All right, there's the beat. Let's play it together.
