Western Music Characteristics: Half Steps, Music Theory
Hey! I am Mark Black and I am here on expertvillage.com. I am here to talk to you about music theory and learning how to read music. But there are lots of sounds between the B and C. Listen to this … So I finally made it to that C and the only thing I am trying to point out is that is a characteristic of Western Music. If somebody wanted to, they can put twice as many frets on this guitar, half as many frets. It is something that the kind of music you heard all your life if you grew up in United States, that is pretty much what you have always heard is music based on half steps. The smallest interval in Western Music and the notes B and C and E and F are the only notes without sharps or flats that are half step apart. B and C, E and F without sharps or flats are half step apart.
