Complete the Descending Part of the Mama's Jambalaya Drum Exercise

JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So I want you to go ahead and play along with me now. You can literally just--you can just count, okay? Just count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etcetera. Have that in your head and that'll help you get that control of your sticks. We're at 80 bpm and I want you to play it with me. If you're having a hard time keeping up, slow it down, work on it on your own, go down to 70, maybe even 65, 60, that's totally fine. Just get it to where your sticks are in your control. Let's do it together now. I'll count you in. One, two, ready, play. All right. You with me? If not, take some time and work on it on your own. This is really going to help the link between your head and your hands.
