Getting your Tie the Right Length

Oh hi! I'm Douglas Willott on behalf of Expert Village, and today were gonna talk about coordinating your shirt with your tie. We're gonna talk for a minute about how to use a tie. Now I'm not gonna teach you how to tie a tie but I will teach you how to make your tie look different against your shirt depending on how long or short you make it. Finding that perfect length for a tie is an art, guys all know this but the trick is now a days sometimes a shorter, a shorter tie is what you want to look hip. Sometimes a longer tie is what you want to stand out a little bit. Maybe one that just touches your buckle or even maybe goes a little bit over. So the trick for this is just figure out where on your shirt, with your tie, which button you should go to when doing the initial adjustment. Making it longer or shorter on either end, for when you want a longer or shorter tie. If you do want a shorter one try a double wrap around the knot up top and then putting it through. The short tie right now is actually very popular. Additionally, the proper way to wear a tie when it was done would be with a slight puff at the top this is coming back into style as of 2008.
