The Basics of Swing Dancing for Men
This is Emily Johnson on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, we will be talking about the man’s swing basic. The man’s swing basic starts with his left foot and this is made up of the triple steps and your rocking steps. So the swing basic for the man’s part is two triple steps followed by one rock step, here what it looks like. You do a triple step to your left, triple step, leaving the right foot in place because this was number three and then a triple step to your right, triple step and then one rock step back with your left foot, rock and then replace to your right foot step. So it is left, right, left, right, left, right, left right or triple step, triple step, rock step. Once again, left, right, left, right, left, right, left right, making sure the man does the back rock with his left foot, we will see that from the side, starting with his left foot, it is left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right or triple step, triple step, back, rock, triple step, triple step, rock step and from the other side, starting with his left foot, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, triple step, triple step, rock step, triple step staying in that syncopated rhythm and that is the man’s swing basic.
