Tango Tips for Men in Ballroom Dancing for Beginners
This is Emily Johnson on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, we will be talking about the man’s tango basic. In the man’s tango basic, you will be taking three walking steps and a sidestep. Once again, the man always steps forward with his heel first, so three walking steps, starting with the heel first, walk, walk, walk and a sidestep to his right. In another angle is walk, walk, walk and a sidestep to his right. You want to remember tango is one of the few places where when you bring your foot together at the very end, you do not change weight, here is what I mean. Your first walking step is your left foot, your second one is your right foot, your third one is your left foot, you step to the side with your right foot and you bring your left foot in, leaving the heel with the foot up, so that you do not change weight, because you will again start with that left foot next. From the different angle, we will show that again, walking forward with the left, forward with the right, forward with the left and a sidestep to your right, bringing the left foot in, without changing weight, because you will again need to use that. And let us talk about the rhythm. The rhythm for tango also in slows and quicks, is two slows for your first two walking steps, slow, slow, two quicks for your third walking step and your sidestep and slow as you drag that foot in and remembering not to change the weight. Once again, that is slow on your first walking step, slow on your third walking step, quick for the side step. Try that one more time that is slow, slow, quick, quick, slow, or slow, slow, quick, quick, slow remembering of course not to change the weight so that your left foot remains free at the end and that is your man’s tango basic.
