Foxtrot Steps for Women in Ballroom Dancing for Beginners
This is Emily Johnson on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, we will be talking about the woman’s fox trot basic. The woman’s fox trot basic starts opposite of the man. She starts once again with her right foot and this time she will be going backward. So we are going to take one walking step backward, followed by another walking step backward and a sidestep to her right. Again, one walking step backward, a second one and a sidestep to her right, show that from a different angle. Once again, the woman starts with her right foot, she is starting backwards in the fox trot. We take one walking step backwards, two walking steps backwards and sidestep to her right, one walking step backward, two walking steps backwards and sidestep to her right, make sure that when your are stepping backward, you always start with your toe first, what you are going to do is you are going to drag the heel of the foot that you are leaving. So we step back with the toe, dragging the heel of the foot that you are leaving, back with the toe and dragging the heel of the foot that you are leaving and then a sidestep to your right. Once again, back with the toe and dragging the heel of the foot that you are leaving and repeat that and sidestep. Make sure that you wait for the man to lead you into this. He will be walking straight forward as you go backwards and then one more time, I will show that in a rhythm, which is slow, slow, quick, quick, slow, slow and quick, quick. From the other angle we are doing slow, slow, quick, quick, slow, slow and quick, quick and that is the woman’s fox trot basic.
