Hi, my name is Nathan McCullough. On behalf of Expert Village. In these clips were going to talk about the proper way to inspect, remove, replace, and maintenance your vehicles shock absorber. In this clip were going to talk about the proper way to jack up your vehicle in order to service your shock absorber. I'm here at the front of my Explorer. I'm going to aim for the front axle, one of the most sturdiest parts of the vehicle and if you jack it up right from the axle, you don't have to go so high as to take up all the distance of your suspension travel. It will save a little work. I'm going to slide my jack under to the front axle and crank it up by hand real quick. Just a little farther than I wanted. That's better. Begin jacking up the vehicle. O.K, as you can see, I have the receiver cup for my jack right here on the front axle. We'll go ahead and jack the vehicle up. You can see my tires come off the ground. I'm going to take it up a little higher just so I got plenty of room to work on. OK, that is the proper way to jack up your vehicle.
