Let's talk about another popular game amongst home games. It's called 727. Each player is trying to get either closest to seven or closest to 27 and win half the pot. Let's see how 727 is dealt out. Each player will receive one down card and one card face-up. In 727, aces are one or 11, and all face cards are half a point. Let's just switch that up. So this player now has two and a half showing. They have one or 11, seven, and four. Once the betting round has concluded, the dealer will ask each player whether they'd like a card. And they can choose whether or not to take a card. If they take a card, the dealer will deal them one card face-up. He takes a card. This player takes a card. And this player decides to pass. When you pass a round while taking a card, you place a chip in front of your cards, indicating that you've passed. Once a player has three chips in front of them, this indicates they have passed on taking cards three times, meaning they are locked and they can no longer take any cards. Once all players in the hand have three chips in front of them, all the betting is concluded and the players will turn their cards over and show their hands. This player has six and a half. This player had a very good hand. Aces are one or 11 plus the five. So he can play this as a seven, and he can also play this as a 27. This player has 10 plus seven plus nine. That is 26. And this player played an eight. The player with seven and 27 will actually rake the entire pot because they have both seven and 27 on the nose, beating the eight, the six and a half, and the 26. Now you can also play another variation of this game where if a player busts, they cannot take any more cards and they can't go for that hand anymore, as in this player showed. These are the first two cards he was dealt, which were eight. He can no longer go for the seven. So he would be forced to draw more cards to go for 27. And that is how 727 is played.
