JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So we're going to move along now. We've done a few eighth note exercises. We can now put an eighth note on the up of one and the up of two, okay? And keep in mind, we're keeping in place our quarter notes on one and three, okay? So go ahead and take a second, think about what that's going to sound like. One-&, &-three, okay? This is what it's going to sound like. I'll leave out the hi-hat again. All right? So there we have, kind of again, the snare kind of playing right in between those eighth notes in the kick, okay? Once we add in the hi-hat, you'll have those eighth notes lining up, just like always, with the kick, all right? Let's take a look. I'll play the whole beat for you and then we'll play it together.
