How to Decorate Rain Sticks With Construction Paper

Hi this is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village. Another good way to decorate your rain stick is to use construction paper. If you have a small enough tube or a large enough piece of construction paper, you can use a variety of colors and you don't have to paint it to get the color you want. It's very simply to select the color that you would like. And you have a couple of ways that you can do this. This one's just a little bit too long, so I would want to mark it so that at either end of my tube it's not quite all the way to the end. That way I'll have a little bit of room so that it won't stick out. So I'll just mark it and then fold it and cut it to fit. Once you have the paper the size that you want, you're also going to want to see how far around it goes, because if it goes too far of an overlap, you'll have difficulty getting it to stay glued to your tube. So you want to check for that too. OK, so I'm going to wrap this around, and I'm going to cut it just a little past where it touches so that I have enough of an overlap to glue it. Now if you have a longer tube, you can get the longer pieces of construction paper or use more than one piece. Once you have the size that you want you might want to decorate your piece of construction paper. And you can do that with paint, you can do it simply with crayons by making a design. A repeating design looks good on a rain stick. You can do a lot of different things. Your imagination is only your limit. And you secure it with craft glue onto your rain stick. You can add more to it if you like. And when you're finished, maybe you might want to take a piece of jute or something else and wrap it around it and tie it to give it more of a natural look. And that's how you can use construction paper to decorate your rain stick.
