Sabre Fencing Defensive Moves

I'm Sharol Pestotnik with Colorado Fencing Academy. I'm Nickolay Logatchov, coach of Colorado Fencing Academy. On behalf of Expert Village we're here to discuss the rules of Sabre Fencing. To gain initiative in the defensive mode, you need to either parry, or let your opponent miss their attack. So as the opponent comes forward, in the aggressive mode, you parry. You now have gained the initiative. Once you gain the initiative, it is very important that you become the aggressor, and finish your attack, gaining the point.
