The Half Flip Ice Skating Jump

Hi! I'm Simone Fisher and I'm here at Clearwater Ice Arena in sunny Clearwater, Florida. On behalf of Expert Village, we're going to introduce to you some advanced figure skating jumps. Hello! Now I'm going to demonstrate a half flip. What we do in the half flip is we go into it by a left outside turn. We pick into the ice, we jump off our pick, step again, and come immediately out. We come out on the inside in. There's a couple of steps to this jump, but it's really important that we have a good bend in our jumping legs. We get off the ice, we keep our back straight, and we check out as always so we have a nice check out on our jump. I'm going to take 3 strokes into this jump and I'm going to show you how it's done. Okay, here I go. That is my half flip.
