Playing Chorus 2, Lick 26 on 'Natural D Blues'

KIVETT BEDNAR: To play lick number 26 from the second chorus of Wes Montgomery's solo on "D-Natural Blues," place your pinkie on the 6th fret of the 3rd string, and your lick should sound like this [PLAYS LICK]. Now, this is over the I7 but it's actually functioning as the V of IV. This whole little lick that we have been doing is over a ii-V to IV just for anybody's identification. So, you drop back a half step from pinkie to ring finger on the 3rd fret, 6th fret to 5th fret, and then your pinkie goes down to the 6th fret of the 4th string, and then you drop back to the 2nd fret--I mean, excuse me, the 4th fret of the 4th string with your second finger. I'm going to play it two times slow and two times fast [PLAYS LICK].
