KIVETT BEDNAR: To play lick number 21 from Wes Montgomery solo on the "D-Natural Blues," start by placing your forefinger on the 7th fret of the 4th string and your lick should sound like this [PLAYS LICK]. So we're going to start with our forefinger on the 7th fret of the 4th string. Like I said, you go up a whole step, and then up a minor 3rd and then walk chromatically down by half steps to the 5th fret 3rd string. I'm going to play this slowly twice and then more quickly a couple of times [PLAYS LICK]. It's important to note that as soon as I'm already in this position, I'm going to be sliding chromatically backwards with my forefinger.
