Playing Chorus 1, Lick 12 Picked on 'Natural D Blues'

KIVETT BEDNAR: This is a demonstration of the right hand for lick number 12 in the first chorus of this Wes Montgomery solo. So, you're going to be walking down this F sharp minor 7, 9. But instead of picking each note like that, you're going to sweep down. So, I'm going to start with an upstroke on the top string. And once I start playing notes on the same string, more than one note on the same string, I'll go back to alternating picking, so very slowly [PLAYS LICK], and more quickly [PLAYS LICK]. You can play much faster this way.
