KIVETT BEDNAR: To play the lick number 11 in the first chorus of this Wes Montgomery solo, start by placing your forefinger on the 4th fret of the 4th string. You're going to hammer on, hammer on up a half step to the 5th fret of the 4th string, go up a major 3rd to the 4th fret of the 3rd string, then jump up a minor 3rd with your pinkie on the same string to the 7th fret of the 3rd string, and then jump up a major 3rd to the 2nd string with your pinkie on the 7th fret, and then fall back on, fall back a whole step to E, which is the 5th fret of the 2nd string. I'm going to play the lick slowly two times, first time saying the note name, second time not, and then play the lick up to speed. F sharp-G-B-D-F sharp-E [PLAYS LICKS].
