How to Cut Onions for Making Cheese Bread
Hi! This Josiah Owen with Expert Village. Now we're going to talk about chopping our onion for our herb and cheese bread. Start off by getting a small onion. We're only going to need a 1/4 cup for this, so you can always take your onion and chop up more to use later, or just through the excess away. Although, I don't like throwing excesses away. Start off by chopping off the top. Make sure you keep your fingers underneath. From that, you want to peel off the excess skin. You just want to take this and put it to the side or put it in the trashcan. What you want to do is you want to go ahead and take this. We're not using that much. Like said, a 1/4 cup. Cut it in half. Put this to the side, that way you can use it later for something else. Now, we have our onion. We're going to make tiny cuts going in one direction. Try to make them as thin as you can. This is going to cause you not to cut so much later. Take that, turn it 1/4 of a turn, and do the exact same thing. Remember to keep your fingers out of the way and curl them under. After that, you have pretty small pieces, but you want them smaller, so you're going to start an anchor the top of you knife and cut going sideways. Do the same thing. You just want to keep on cutting until the pieces are about this big.
